      Sandro Botticelli's painting "Primavera" is one of the most famous and unique allegories of the season in art history. In the painting, nine mythological figures appear in an orange grove (a reference to the Medici). Hundreds of species of plants bloom around them. The painting contains numerous references to classical and Renaissance poetry and literature (Ovid, Lucretius, etc.), but it is not based on one specific story.
